Portalon Information

Portalon is a small pueblo consisting mainly of Costa Rican families and a small mixture of North Americans and Europeans. A laid back friendly atmosphere prevails. With a backdrop of jungle covered hills and bordering the Portalon River, it offers an abundance of tranquility and serenity.  Here you become aware of a relaxing energy  which seems to rejuvenate and invigorate your entire body.  Portalon offers some newer cabinas with pool for overnight stays. You can hike or horseback  ride to nearby waterfalls.  The town of Matapalo and its beautiful beaches are only within 2 miles.  Matapalo will be a future high growth area for hotel and resort development. The famous Savegre River and rafting is only a few miles away. The towns of Quepos to the North and Dominical to the South are within 20 minutes. Access is easy with the Quepos Airport only 15 minutes away.
